Monet painted Rouen Cathedral so many times in different lights and weather conditions, so I see no reason for not re-working old faves like this. It's impossible to draw a line in pencil twice identically, never mind produce a painting exactly the same. I've tilted Keith's head to exaggerate his quizzical thoughtfulness ("which tree's next for me to tip out of?") Subtleties like that change everything about the painting as it creates a different negative shape on the left, so a big white arrow points into the focal area. You don't need to read his book to realise this is one of life's immense presences because one look informs the viewer, but I'd recommend it to anyone (Stones fan or not). On his face are a few quotes to give a flavour of how this great creature views the planet.
